The engine auto-controller is responsible for automatically starting and stopping the rotation of the Blades. It has a direct connection with the engine, and can operate in three distinct modes:
Auto Mode: The blades automatically start and stop rotating based on environmental information they receive. This mode gives the engine auto-controller complete control over the blades.
Manual Mode: The blades start and stop rotating only when someone switches them on or off.
Monitor Mode: The engine auto-controller is powered off to save fuel in the off-season, but environmental information continues to be gathered (rather like a small weather station).
When in auto mode, the engine auto-controller compares all of the environmental data it receives with the default configuration to determine when to start and when to stop the blades. If the canopy temperature is:
Less than or equal to the configured start temperature, the blades will start to rotate.
Greater than or equal to the configured stop temperature, the blades will stop rotating.
The blades will start only if the wind speed is less than 10km/hr. Anything above this, the blades are not needed because the wind will do the job.
