To use remote control you need to have a newer controller which is remote control capable. Older fans do not have remote control capability.
First the fan needs to be in auto or manual mode. If the fan is in monitor mode then remote control will be disabled.
After the fan is switched to Auto we can click the Settings button and note most buttons are no longer grey. This indicates these options are now available.
Now we can do things such as adjust the start/stop temperature. Or schedule a fan to run at a certain time (up to 24 hours in advance).
If you would like to adjust the start/stop temperature you can do this by clicking the Set button.
Note that the stop temperature must be at least 2 Deg higher than the start.
To set a run schedule you can click the schedule button and input the time and date for "Start at" and "Duration".
Be sure to double check you selected the correct day and time plus duration for the timed run.
After clicking confirm you should see a confirmation the command has been sent.
You will also see the scheduled activity showing indicating the fan has a scheduled run pending.
Once the fan has started you see the colors change to indicate it is running. Also under scheduled activity you can see when the fan is scheduled to stop.
If you decide to stop the fan early simply click the stop button.
If you decided to stop the timed run early by clicking the stop button then you then need to confirm the stop request by typing "stop" into the text box and clicking confirm.
The other way to remotely control the fan is in manual mode. This way the fan will not start automatically if there is a frost.
To start the fan manually with no predetermined run time (schedule). Make sure the controller is in manual mode then click the settings button. Click Start. Then type the required confirmation text "start". Click confirm.
The fan will start, generally within 1min. After it has gone through the warm up process the fan will show as running in FrostSmart.
